Swiss Quality UK and USM invite you to an evening discussion on Modular Design Systems with Micha Weidmann and Takeshi Hayatsu.
6.30pm on Thursday, 22nd March 2018 at USM Clerkenwell, 49-51 Central St, London EC1V 8AB.
Micha will give an insight into modular typography having created designs for publications and publishers such as Time Out, Tate Modern, The Fashion and dezeen.com.
Micha's background is in Swiss typography and art direction for luxury brands. He founded his London studio in 2001 and has built a reputation with his work for designer brands and publications.
Takeshi will discuss how various modules exist in both traditional and contemporary constructions in Japan and the UK, and how he combines them in his architecture.
Takeshi is a Japanese architect based in London. He established Hayatsu Architects in 2017 after working at 6a architects for 11 years. His work includes the tea house which exhibited at the Barbican in collaboration with Japanese architect and historian Terunobu Fujimori. His practice was recently included in the exhibition ‘The Land We Live In - The Land We Left Behind’ at Hauser & Wirth Somerset.
