The Consumer Choice Center has evaluated the 50 best train stations in Europe and two Swiss stations are among the top ten. Bern - together with Berlin Central - achieved third place and, as in 2022, Zurich is number one! What makes the train station so special? Zurich's main railway station, was officially opened on 1st of August 1871. Therefore, as of 2024, it is over 150 years old. The station has historical significance as it played a crucial role in connecting various rail lines, transforming Zurich into a major transportation hub.
